Bringing New Harmony to Your Home

Hello Friends!

Are you ready to bring new warmth, tranquility, and elegance to your home? Me too! When I first married David, our home was filled with color. Blues, yellows, pinks - you name it, I probably had it. With new found freedom and a chance to do whatever I wanted, I went all out. I loved it at the time, but over the course of a few years, my color palette felt too chaotic. There was no cohesive order, and I was really craving that.

This isn’t to say anything was wrong with my home. It was the vibe I wanted at that time, and after some years, it was shifting. For me, the perfect combination of green, amber, and cream interior décor has been an absolute joy to work with. My home feels natural, light, and elegant, and because these colors are bolder neutrals, you can really add pops of colors that will almost always coordinate beautifully. These main colors harmoniously blend to create a serene and inviting atmosphere that, I believe, will leave your guests wondering why they feel so comfortable and at home.

My goal has always been to create a space and home that is inviting and feels peaceful. Let's explore how you can incorporate these shades into your home and make a stunning statement.

The Power of a Pretty Green

Green is a versatile color, but I will go down fighting for its place in the neutral category. Greens can be bold or laid back, but they almost always fit into any space. Something’s feeling off? Put a plant in your space. You’ll notice brightness and warmth. This is because green represents nature, growth, and harmony. It brings a sense of balance and serenity to any room in your home.

You can paint an accent wall in a shade like moss green or olive for an instant bold statement that adds depth and character, or you can be more subtle. incorporate green through furniture pieces such as emerald green jars, or even chairs and a velvet sofa if you want to jump in. My vote will always be to add new greenery to your space by throwing in some plants. It’s an easy first step and if you’re afraid you don’t have a green thumb, that’s okay! Get a fake plant. Studies show your brain still registers the same positive feelings it would towards a real plant - if anything, you might even be happier knowing it’s beautiful and needs literally no care.

The Warmth of a Gorgeous Amber

Amber glow is popular for a reason. With its honey-like tones, amber radiates warmth and creates a cozy feel in any room. Consider adding accents of amber through decorative items such as vases, candleholders, or table lamps. A large statement mirror framed in amber can also enhance the natural light in your space while providing an elegant touch. To take it a step further, include curtains or blinds in warm amber hues to infuse the room with a soft, inviting glow.

The Timeless Elegance of Cream

Cream is a classic and timeless color that can be used as a neutral base to complement both green and amber, but really it’s a basic that can never go wrong. Because it’s so unassuming, you can do all kinds of designs around it, and it will pop beautifully. Once I repainted our home to a neutral cream, our space instantly felt more open and more inviting. I became a lot more excited about adding color and pops to our home.

Consider Incorporating cream-colored walls, flooring, or even bedding to create a neutral canvas for the rest of your interior décor. Cream upholstery on sofas or armchairs can also serve as a versatile backdrop for accent pillows and throws in green and amber. I know that many of us have kids or dogs, or we ourselves just don’t want to get things dirty, so I understand not running for cream furniture. It’s beautiful, but requires a lot of attention. Go for cream based walls and decor pieces, at least those are a little less daunting.

Bringing It All Together

Now that you've seen how green, amber, and cream can come into your home, it's time to bring it all together and share your vibes! Layer textiles and textures in varying shades of these colors to create depth and visual interest. Mix and match patterns such as floral, geometric, or stripes to add a playful yet sophisticated touch. Incorporate natural elements like wood or rattan furniture and woven rugs to further emphasize the connection with nature. Additionally, don't forget the power of lighting! Choose warm-toned bulbs to enhance the amber and cream hues, and create a cozy and inviting ambiance for yourself and others!

Now maybe you’re someone who’s already done this palette and you’re tired of it - that’s great! This is my current vibe but, who knows, I might break out into a lot more color again later. Time will tell.

Till next time! ♡
